Foil Blocking Environmental Credentials and Caring for the Planet

The Foil & Specialty Effects Association published a Pira report in September 2008. It confirms that a foil blocked print is ‘PULPABLE’, which is the best way of recycling paper and board. A foiled print is also ‘COMPOSTABLE’ with the thickness of foil on a finished print at just 2 to 3 microns.

Minimising the effect and caring for the environment:

NOT ONLY DOES HOT FOIL BLOCKING PRODUCE THE BEST METALLIC FINISH ON THE MARKET BUT IT REDUCES THE USE OF OUR PLANET’S NATURAL RESOURCES TOO!

*Compostable means that the print can degrade to a form that supports life.
*Pulpable means that the print can be pulped for a later use.
